Saddle Joint
Skeletal System
A saddle joint is a biaxial synovial joint in which each bone’s surface is convex in one direction and concave in the other, so they fit together like a rider sitting on a saddle.
Movements
Flexion and extension, abduction and adduction, and circumduction; this joint has a greater range than a condyloid joint, and combined movements produce some limited rotation.
